Answering Your Mini Session Questions

What is a mini session?

A mini session is a short 15 minute session. I’ll provide the plan for the day, so you don’t have to! If you’re a family that loves the convenience of a short session, you’re in the right place. They are perfect for just the kiddos, families or couples. I know your life is busy and it’s hard to squeeze in a longer session into your already packed schedule.

A mini session is not the time to celebrate your newborn, cake smash for your one year old or extended family. For those sessions, I recommend a longer session so we’ll have more time to celebrate!

What if my kids won’t cooperate?

I work with kiddos all the time and have some tricks that we’ll try. We can pivot and give them a break. Don’t worry! You’ll have some funny bloopers in your gallery to remember this day by. No stress here! Breathe and remember that these photos are all about remembering this season of life, even if kiddos are having a rough day. Here are my top 3 tips on how to prepare your kiddos for your mini session.

We’re awkward in front of the camera!

Don’t worry! I got you! (I feel awkward in front of the camera too!) MDP sessions are laid back so you can have the most fun with your family. I’ll be guiding you into poses that may FEEL awkward in that moment, but ultimately will look AMAZING in your photos.

What should we wear?

You should wear something that you feel comfortable and confident in! Once you book your mini session, you’ll receive the MDP Client Guide in your email. This guide goes into more detail about choosing and coordinating outfits for your family. You can even send me photos of what you’re thinking if you need another opinion.

What happens if it rains?

A little rain can make a session fun! I’ll have umbrellas if we need them. However, if the weather is truly unbearable or unsafe (I know how unpredictable Ohio weather is!) I’ll work with everyone to schedule a rain date.

When will we receive our photos?

Your photos will be delivered within 2 weeks after your session. They will be delivered to you via email in a private online gallery where you will make your photo selections and download your high resolution digital images.
