Let’s break it down, full session vs. mini session? Which session works best for you? Most photographers offer both sessions and there are some key differences between them that you should know. As a Cincinnati family photographer, I have families interested in each kind of session and those families have determined which session works best for their family.

Full session vs. Mini session, which one is right for you?

Let’s Talk About Full Sessions

Full sessions are what I like to call a “Classic Session.” They are typically between 60 and 90 minutes depending on which package you select. That means you’ll have more time with your family! Also, there’s more time to move from spot to spot, change outfits and time for breaks for kiddos if they need it! The more time we spend together, the more images I snap! You will have more images to choose from once your gallery is delivered. Lastly, there’s a little more planning on your end, you have the choice of location and a little more wiggle room in selecting a date and time for your session.

Full Sessions are great for family sessions, lifestyle newborn sessions, cake smashes for your 1 year old and extended family sessions.

Let’s Talk About Mini Sessions

Mini sessions are typically only offered seasonally. I would do the planning for you! The location, date and time slots are all selected by the photographer. All you have to do is check your calendar, book the time that works best for you and show up with your family! These short and sweet sessions are usually between 10-15 minutes long and include 5 images. You would receive fresh photos of your family in just 15 minutes! Once your gallery is delivered, you’ll select your favorite images and have the opportunity to purchase more if you’d like. Lastly, mini sessions are a more budget friendly option and are perfect for the family that have a packaged schedule and can’t fit in a longer session.

Mini sessions work well for families, just the kiddos and couples!
