Oh my goodness! I can’t wait to share this cake smash session with you! Jenn and Kari reached out to me about doing a “Rookie of the Year” themed cake smash for their son’s 1st birthday at a baseball field. Of course, I had to say, “YES!” Cake smash sessions are so much fun because kids only turn 1 once and they are curious about everything! A cake smash session is a great way to celebrate a kid’s curiosity and of course, their first birthday!
Gower Park Rookie of the Year Cake Smash Session
We had the most gorgeous morning for this rookie of the year cake smash session. It was 75 degrees and sunny! Gower Park in Sharonville was the perfect location, it’s a small park with a newly updated playground with a secluded baseball field just up the hill from the playground and a creek in between.
Jenn, Kari and Lincoln arrived and we had the park to ourselves! (TIP: schedule your session in the morning for a less crowded location) Lincoln was all smiles and ready to have his 1 year photos. He loved exploring the baseball field! He ran his fingers through the dirt, sat on home plate and tasted peanuts!
Lincoln’s aunt made a such a cute baseball cake for him to smash! Lincoln wasn’t too sure about his cake at first, he was more interested in the bucket of baseballs that were sitting behind him, and that’s okay! We had a lot of fun and got some great photos!
Thank you so much, Jenn, Kari and Lincoln! I had a blast at your session and Happy 1st Birthday, Lincoln! I’m excited to see how your family grows together.
Enjoy these photos of this sweet cake smash!

Great pics Marie. Never heard of a cake smash party for 1st birthday. What a great fun idea. Lincoln is a doll.
